TIMELINE (TENTATIVE)

DIGITAL RURAL PROFILING – FEBRUARY 2026

  • HEIs shall nominate a faculty coordinator/E-Cell, with student teams comprising up to 10 members.
  • Student teams receives a 3-hour live online training session on ethical engagement with MSME stakeholders, content documentation frameworks, mobile filming techniques, AI-assisted editing, and final video structuring
  • Student teams visit allotted villages for rural profiling of micro-entrepreneurs.

VISUAL STORYTELLING – MARCH 2026

  • Student teams convert field documentation into short digital films (1–3 minutes) and a visual poster either in Tamil or English.
  • Faculty coordinators review submissions for Format compliance, Ethical standards and Content clarity.

STATE-LEVEL STORYTELLING HACKATHON – APRIL 2026

  • Colleges may organize internal, college-level storytelling hackathons, on an optional basis.
  • Entries are evaluated based on Story clarity, Authenticity, Visual quality and Social relevance
  • Selected films are recognized at the state level and curated for official showcases, featured on CED Anna University platforms, STARTIFY portal and other partner and stakeholder channels

SCOPE OF INTERVIEWS

Interviews conducted as part of the Digital Rural Profiling stage shall only focus on rural entrepreneurs, micro-enterprises, region-specific livelihood practices, indigenous knowledge systems, enterprise processes, and real-world challenges and problem statements.

TRAINING STRUCTURE

Module 1: Programme Purpose & Context

Participants shall be oriented on the programme objectives, the role of MSMEs, the relevance of storytelling, and student contribution to development initiatives.

Module 2: MSME Engagement & Ethics

Training shall cover professional engagement with MSME representatives and enterprise stakeholders, including trust building, ethical documentation, and effective interviewing practices.

Module 3: Content Documentation Framework

Students shall be guided to document entrepreneur profiles, business overviews, founder journeys, key strengths, challenges, future aspirations, and support requirements.

Module 4: Mobile Filming Techniques

Participants shall be trained in mobile-based filming, covering lighting, framing, audio capture, process documentation, and B-roll usage.

Module 5: AI-Assisted Editing & Post-production

Training shall introduce AI-enabled editing techniques, including subtitles, noise reduction, basic colour correction, transitions, and narrative structuring.

Module 6: Final Output & Submission Standards

Students shall be instructed on final video structuring, recommended duration (2–4 minutes), and compliance with prescribed submission formats.

Programme Structure

IMPRENT (Impacting Rural Entrepreneurship) is a student-driven initiative anchored by the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED), Anna University. The programme engages colleges across Tamil Nadu in documenting rural and micro-enterprises through structured digital storytelling.

Students undertake field-based documentation using mobile filmmaking and ethical engagement practices. These efforts result in high-quality digital stories and enterprise profiles that are curated into:
